Covering the basics of communication styles and listening skills and focusing on the Why, How and Who of communciation. You will get the opportunity to explore your own style and approach, as well as understanding others’ and the impact these differences can have on effective communication. Content can also be tailored to the communication mediums most relevant to you – email, phone or face-to-face, as well as client-oriented or internal in focus.
Sometimes it’s not what is said, but how it’s said that can be the most revealing! Covering the critical aspects of non-verbal cues and body-language and the impact of incongruent behaviours. In addition we focus on the impact of culture and how we can all be prone to biases and stereotyping in our communication.
Understanding the variations of tone, how these can change under pressure and the effect and impact these can have on teamwork. Exploring how to deal with individuals displaying aggressive, manipulative, submissive and passive-aggressive behaviours at work, managing difficult conversations, as well as how to maximise the use of the assertive tone in your own approach.
