Year in Review!

Year in Review!

2021 has been a challenging year for all, but it’s also been a year to embrace change and new opportunities – here’s a short round-up of what the iMeasure team has been up to this year!

iPrism Assessment Tool

Despite the continued impact of the Covid19 pandemic, which has been particularly testing for the aviation industry, iMeasure’s bespoke assessment tool iPrism has continued to experience steady growth in the marketplace over the last 12 months, with the tool now supporting several new airline and business aviation clients. With a focus on role-specific competencies, behaviours and communication skills in addition to unique insights around resilience, coping strategies and performance under pressure, the iPrism tool has delivered accurate, relevant assessment results for clients in both selection and development settings. The importance of understating the whole individual alongside the particular environment they will be working in, forms a central component of the bespoke report outputs, with this year seeing further development, consolidation and validation of iPrism’s role-specific profiles, which now include Command Upgrade, Captain, First Officer and Instructor roles. The team are delighted with the positive feedback received around the impact and utility of the iPrism tool in supporting clients through enhanced understanding of their people and new hires:

“…We tend to be somewhat familiar with all our external applicants and were impressed with the accuracy of your assessment of each – you have captured accurately the behaviour and performance of our Command Upgrade candidates…”

(Director of Operations and Chief Pilot)

The tool is also proving sensitive to situational impacts and how respondents are feeling at the time of taking the assessment, with test-re-rest results taken a year apart accurately reflecting changes in self-esteem and self-efficacy as individuals have been made redundant and also returned to work. These insights are proving invaluable in supporting return-to-work interviews and the ongoing development and support of employees.

Directors’ news

The contributions and commitment to the aviation industry demonstrated by iMeasure’s Managing Director Nikki Heath have been highlighted this year as she has been named as a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS). The Fellowship (FRAeS) is the highest grade of its membership, which recognises outstanding contributions in the profession of aeronautics. Nikki has worked in the Human Performance environment for 25 years and in that time she has successfully created, designed and developed a number of human performance evaluation and assessment tools that are now employed internationally in Aviation and other high-risk, safety-critical industries. She has a track record of combining her Human Factors, Psychology and Human Performance qualifications and knowledge to create highly effective ways of measuring complex human issues.

Nikki is also now sharing her expertise and knowledge through her role on the executive committee of the RAeS’s Flight Crew Training Specialist Group. The Flight Crew Training Group aims to serve as an impartial focus for the body of knowledge, and a centre of excellence and intellectual output, on behalf of the Royal Aeronautical Society for flight crew training matters.  The Group works nationally and internationally with appropriate organisations, such as the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and National Authorities, and other Society Specialist Groups, on the development, progression and adoption of advances in flight crew training and assessment, and its regulation, in the civil aviation environment. Nikki is currently serving as the Communications, Media, Community of Interest & Flight Crew Training Group Liaison Officer and Marketing & Corporate Contacts Officer.

Operations Director Hannah Clilverd has this year received endorsement of her skills and proficiency in applying psychology in the workplace, in addition to recognition of her expertise in the field of aviation. She received confirmation of qualifying as an Accredited Aviation Psychologist with the European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP) in addition to achieving Certified Principal Business Psychologist status with the Association for Business Psychology (ABP). Having worked as a psychologist for over 13 years and specialising in aviation early into her career, these achievements illustrate the two over-arching areas of knowledge and competency Hannah brings with her approach, applying sound psychological principles and theories to support workplace performance whilst appreciating and understanding specific industry demands and requirements.

EAAP accreditation provides professional peer recognition for psychologists and aviation operators who actively deal with human performance applications in their day-to-day work. The comprehensive accreditation process requires proof of qualification and education, as well as evidence of expertise and knowledge of the aviation field, gained through independent practice and professional occupation in the field. The ABP does great work promoting best practice in Business Psychology, ensuring the application of psychology in the workplace is practical, evidence-based, and ethical. The CPBP certification is a very thorough process and is awarded in recognition of attainment against their Business Psychology Framework for knowledge, skills, and experience of applying Business Psychology in organisations.

The iMeasure team would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our clients, connections, associates and friends for your support this year and to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a hopefully a healthy, happy and prosperous 2022! We look forward to continuing to bring our passion and expertise in the delivery of Human Performance solutions and to unveiling further exciting developments in the New Year.
